The White House establishes the Women’s Health Research Initiative
The White House has established a new initiative to advance women’s health research in the U.S. The initiative will be led by the First Lady and the White House Gender Policy Council and chaired by Dr. Carolyn Mazure, a leader in women’s health research. The initiative will work with NIH and other partners to close research gaps and address the unique health needs of women across their lifespans. ORWH supports research on sex and gender differences, women’s health equity and inclusion, and career development for women in biomedical careers.

Faculty mentors, consider applying for an NIH DEIA mentorship supplement
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) supports faculty mentors who have shown a demonstrable commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA). Such faculty members can apply for an administrative supplement to an existing award to fund additional activities within the scope of the parent grant, extend DEIA activities, and add trainee slots on an NRSA award. This supplement provides up to $250,000 in direct costs (not to exceed those of the parent award). The deadline to apply is February 16, 2024.
