NSF New Funding Opportunity - Cell-Free System Technology
The National Science Foundation's Directorate for Technology, Innovation and Partnerships (TIP) aims to boost U.S. competitiveness in technology through the The Advancing Cell-Free Systems Toward Increased Range of Use-Inspired Applications (CFIRE) initiative. CFIRE seeks to enhance the adoption and application of cell-free systems, addressing their current limitations such as high costs and restricted usage. The program aims to accelerate the integration of cell-free systems into various industries beyond human therapeutics.
We encourage you to read more about this new finding opportunity that aligns with NSF's goal to accelerate use-inspired and translational research technology. In addition to reading the solicitation, you can register for NSF's webinar on Tuesday, March 26 from 10am - 11am PT.

Applying for an F30, F31, F32? Register for a NIH Fellowship writing course!
University Studies 231 is an 8-week program aiming to boost both the quantity and success rate of F-series applications from UCI trainees. Throughout the course, participants engage with brief pre-recorded lectures and attend Q&A sessions led by faculty and accomplished trainees who have secured fellowships. Trainees work on crafting a Specific Aims page and a Goals for Training section, receiving constructive feedback through small group peer reviews. Following the 8-week program, trainees submit refined writing samples for further evaluation by senior trainees and faculty members.
The course number is University Studies 231 and course code is 87959. Postdocs can join as auditors by emailing Dr. Harinder Singh at harinder.singh@uci.edu.
